The Greek Oregano pushes each dish over the top! Hippocratic Essentials^TM dried rubbed Oregano is a highly aromatic herb, that is rich and slightly bitter in taste. Oregano contains the highest content of vitamin C of all the herbs. Oregano is rich in E, K, A vitamins, manganese, magnesium, calcium, niacin, zinc and iron among others. In Greek cuisine, it is commonly used in tomato sauses, seasoning and for cooking vegetables and it is excellent for pizzas, salads, roast beef, sauces for meal and fish dishes, also with potatoes, vegetables in oil and many other things.

03. Oregano Oil

Hippocratic Essentials™ presents Greek Oregano Essential Oil from the valley of Thessaly, in Central Greece.

Greek Oregano (Origanum Vulgare ssp. hirtum) is distilled to extract the essential oil (where a high concentration of the herb’s active constituents are found) using steam distillation procedure.

Oil of oregano contains two powerful compounds called carvacrol and thymol, both of which have been shown to have strong anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Oregano’s oil is primarily made of carvacrol, while the plant’s leaves contain a variety of antioxidant compounds, such as phenols, triterpenes, rosmarinic acid, ursolic acid and oleanolic acid.
